Extremities worn, rear hinge starting to crack and some foxing of preliminaries; otherwise a very good copy. 1885 signature on half title. Decorated by publisher's device on verso of title. A guide to the canon law of the Church of England, listing 141 canons. Mackenzie Edward Charles Walcott (1821-80), clergyman and antiquarian. was educated at Winchester and Oxford and ordained priest in 1845. He served in Westminster and Mayfair before he became Precentor and a Prebendary of Chichester Cathedral in 1863. He was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in 1861.
