Small stain on lower page edges but otherwise very good clean copy. Decorated by publisher's device at end. A competent analysis of the law on literary obscenity in England following the 1959 Obscene Publications Act, which is examined in detail, and the Lady Chatterley trial of 1960. The book also relates a history of the control of books in Britain and overseas and discusses the law in Scotland, Ireland, the USA, France and other countries. By Alec Craig (1897-1973), campaigner for freedom from literary censorship within the context of providing rational sex education and social conditions which would obviate sexual frustration.
