Spine and edge of front board sunned; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by map endpapers. The account by Norman Mailer (1923-2007) of the October 1967 march on the Pentagon, Washington D.C. against the role of the US armed forces in the Vietnam War. A 'non-fiction novel,' narrated by Mailer in the third person, it covers preceding events at the city's Ambassador Theatre,getting himself arrested before the March proper, which he subsequently describes, begins. Portions of the book, which won the Pulitzer prize for non-fiction and the National Book Award, were originally published in Harper's Magazine.
