A little wear to lower board edges and slight browning of front flyleaf; otherwise a very good copy. Bookplate. Illustrated throughout in black and white, with frontispiece, including maps, plans and diagrams. Decorated by chapter heading vignettes. A history of the British East India Company, 1600-1874, which dominated British involvement in the sub continent for over two centuries.
