A charming account of a journey to the near east, including Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey, written in diary format, made by a young artist in 1886-87 and illustrated by himself. George Rodier (1864-1913) was an artist who later became a professor of philosophy at the Sorbonne and published on Greek philosophy.
