Original issue of this newspaper containing a fascinating variety of notices and advertisements on the front page; the inside and back pages are a mixture of national and Kentish news and a Corn Exchange section which supplies corn, hop and other commodity prices at the London markets and Canterbury. Some comment is made on the Congress of Vienna, which was in session and a report is given of a meeting of landowners in Maidstone on the proposed Corn Laws. News from Buckinghamshire concerns a lady barbarously murdered with a billhook in her home by robbers and from London an account of 'The Late Faux Paux in Hugh Life...when Lord-----returned from Church and on looking through the key hole [of the nursery] he saw his Lady with an intimate friend of his Lordship in such a situation that is not to be described...'
